Making decisions makes life.
Our life consists of a host of decisions made. Certainly circumstances, or better
Providence, determines which are our options, but nevertheless, we do, at least
most of us, have lots of decisions to be made.
There are lots of resources to help us decide:
- Gut instinct,
- Counsel of others,
- Experience,
- Scripture,
- Prayer,
- Leading of the Holy Spirit.
As I have gainned experience over the years, the latter two
resources have become more and more prominent.
However, I have noted something of some import regarding my decisions. The BIG decisions get lots of resources,
and tend to go pretty well. But those
small decisions…
Maybe what I call “small” decisions are bigger than I
think. Perhaps I OUGHT to devote a bit
more prayer and seeking G^d’s direction in these “small” decisions. The small ones are a lot more abundant than
the big ones.
Prov 3:5-6 speaks to this- without distinguishing on the
size of decision. “Trust in the L^rd with all thine heart, and do NOT lean on
thine own understanding. In ALL thy ways
acknowledge Him, and He shall direct thy path.”
Now, if I can just STICK to my decision on making decisions.
priceless thoughts dear brother! Proverbs 28:26.
