Yes, Swedes have babies just like we do in the USA!! (Word to wise, Men if you are disappointed by the title, don’t admit it.) It turns out that our landlords had their first child Wednesday. Anna and her little boy (not yet named) came home after her C-section on Friday evening.
The little boy was over 9 pounds, and looks older than his 3 days of age!
They don’t know what they are in for!! I recommend all new parents memorize Psalm 127. It seems to start off talking about houses and cities and then abruptly talks of children. Before we had kids, I never understood it, but it didn’t take long to figure it out.
o (Psa 127) Except the LORD build the house, they labour in vain that build it: except the LORD keep the city, the watchman waketh but in vain.
o {2} It is vain for you to rise up early, to sit up late, to eat the bread of sorrows: for so he giveth his beloved sleep.
o {3} Lo, children are an heritage of the LORD: and the fruit of the womb is his reward.
o {4} As arrows are in the hand of a mighty man; so are children of the youth.
o {5} Happy is the man that hath his quiver full of them: they shall not be ashamed, but they shall speak with the enemies in the gate.
