Most of you know my wife, Brenda, so you know what the title
means. Of all the decisions I have ever
made, and over 62 years, that’s more than a few, the best was to ask Brenda to
be my wife. Foolishly she agreed.
Now we are 40 years into this partnership.
We have five kids, 3 married-ins, and now 4 grandkids. We have traveled coast to coast, north to
south, and in several foreign countries.
She has braved the snows of Sweden in late winter. She has walked and driven across frozen
lakes. In Australia she went down into a
gold mine, and endured the total darkness there. In Jordan, as she washed her face she saw a
wild camel and colt running through the barren desert.
And now I have drug her off to southern Africa of all
places.
And the most remarkable thing in all this? She does it all with a smile. Long flights, sleeplessness, jet lag, stress
of being told (erroneously) that her passport didn’t have a long enough time to
expiration.
She has endured Baby deliveries, and deliveries of babies by
her own babies. She has nursed us
through sickness and kept our kids from killing themselves or anyone else. She has packed a thousand lunches, and cooked
about 40,000 meals. All with a smile.
A Proverbs 31 woman
indeed. (Look it up if necessary).
Her husband and children rise up and call her Blessed, indeed!! Many daughters have done nobly, but you excel
them all!
Indeed.
ReplyDeleteAmen to that!! Mom is the best! I Love you both dearly, and I Love that you Love each other!
ReplyDeleteIf they made adult pajamas with superheroes on them, Tina and I would want a pair of Brenda Bishop pj's. We miss you both dearly.
