We are sadly, leaving Italy.
We have a 0610 flight, which involves getting up VERY early in the AM.
We arrive at the Airport to find a beehive of activity at
0440 AM. After a long wait in line, we
fly to Amsterdam. Naturally, we cross
the Alps.
Just shy of 2 hours later we land in Amsterdam. In my view, Schipol Airport is one of the three
nicest in the world along with Seoul and Sydney.
The security here is the toughest I have seen, except for Israel. Not sure why.
About 2 hours later we fly out, heading back almost exactly
over Bologna, headed for Johannesburg. In
reaching Jo’burg we will fly almost exactly over Gaborone, so after we land in
Jo’burg we will retrace our steps as we did in leaving Bologna. Not so efficient, but to get where we want to
go, we must retrace our steps on each end of the journey.
There seems to be an illustration in this. To go forward, we occasionally have to
retrace our steps, in what appears to be the wrong direction. I hate to do that, but it is necessary.
If you recall that old joke that includes the line, “you can’t
get there from here”, you know what I mean.
We must re-pent (re= to do again), we must turn around 180 degrees to get somewhere
spiritually. To travel down the flight-path
of Christianity, we must repent, turn around and retrace our steps…but on this
journey, it’s the best way to get where we want to go.
