Tex-Mex and Subways in Sundsvall

Brenda and I are making our first out-of-town trek today.  We take the 0729 train from Ostersund Vastra rail station to Sundsvall.  We have to pay to extend our visit for 15 days.

The train in only a few minutes late.  It is clean, comfortable, and not very crowded.  And, it has internet!

The town itself is not much different from Ostersund.

We have a map and find the MigrationSevert office with ease.

We take a number and a few minutes later a very nice lady is helping us.  We have found the people to be generally very nice, friendly and helpful.  But we mainly pick people who look to be nice, friendly and helpful.

Aftwerwards we visit a nice (free) museum.  We are both shocked that it is free.  The ONE thing most challenging about living here is the HIGH cost of everything.

A 2.5 hour train ride is $40 each way.  A two-taco lunch and a nacho plate w water to drink cost us $22.  This is a cheap lunch here.  The cheapest Subway sandwiches are $6-7 for a 15 mm.(6-inch).

We had a smooth trip and a nice ride back through some nice countryside.  When you don't speak the language, that's not a bad day.
