Stress (Stressen)

We often go to great lengths to avoid stress.  Sometimes this is good.  Often it is not.  Stress is usually unpleasant, but it is often good.
Experts speak of good stress as eustress, and bad stress as distress.  Most experiences are a mixture of both.
In my experience, the stresses we choose are usually eustressful.  The stresses that accrue from bad planning, bad choices are usually distressful.  But not always.

We have chosen to come to a cold, dark country in mid-winter.  What kind of stress, on balance, will it be?

  2. Yes, we are almost at the very top of major ski slope (very popular). They had lots and lots of runs. Looked to be considerably different philosophy from Alpine skiing in USA.
